Magnesium is an essential mineral involved in more than 300 metabolic reactions, including those related to energy production, nervous system balance, and proper muscle function.
Foods richest in magnesium, such as seeds and nuts, legumes, whole grains, and leafy green vegetables, are excellent sources. However, these are not typically the foods children consume in sufficient quantities. As a result, children’s magnesium intake often falls short of recommended levels.
To make daily intake easier for children, we developed a unique formula combining organic cocoa powder and prebiotic fiber. The addition of liposomal Vitamin C supports magnesium absorption in the gut and improves digestive tolerance, for optimal effectiveness with a gentle touch.

Directions for use

Dosage: 1 measuring spoon per day
Directions: Mix the powder into a little warm milk or water. You can add a spoonful of cocoa powder from your kitchen to enhance the flavor. For optimal absorption and effectiveness, it is recommended to take Kids Cacao Magnesium in the evening, after a meal.

What are the functions of magnesium?
Magnesium is an essential mineral for the proper functioning of the body and is involved in more than 300 enzymatic reactions. It plays a key role in energy production (ATP), nerve transmission, muscle relaxation, and mood regulation. It also contributes to bone mineralization, maintaining a normal heart rhythm, protein synthesis, and proper electrolyte balance. In children, it particularly supports growth processes, concentration, and stress management.
Its main cofactors, that is to say the nutrients that facilitate its action or absorption, are:
- Vitamin B6, essential for magnesium to enter cells.
- Vitamin D, which promotes its use in conjunction with calcium in bones.
- Vitamin C, which improves its tolerance and digestive assimilation.
- Zinc, which is involved in certain enzymatic reactions associated with magnesium.

What are the signs of a magnesium deficiency?
Magnesium deficiency in children can manifest in various ways, often subtle at first. The most common include persistent fatigue, increased irritability or nervousness, difficulty concentrating, sleep disturbances, and muscle tension or contractions (cramps, spasms, eyelid twitching). Some children may also experience increased sensitivity to stress, recurring headaches, or a general decline in energy levels.
It should be noted that standard blood tests cannot accurately assess magnesium status, as less than 1% of the body's total magnesium circulates in the blood. Therefore, a "normal" blood level does not rule out a deficiency.
The most relevant test is the erythrocyte magnesium assay, which measures the amount of magnesium present inside red blood cells and reflects the body's actual reserves much more accurately. This is the gold standard test when a deficiency is suspected.

Magnesium and ADHD
A study* conducted on children diagnosed with ADHD observed that 72% of them had a magnesium deficiency before treatment. After being divided into two groups—magnesium supplementation versus no supplementation—the children who received magnesium showed significant improvements in cognitive function, as assessed using standardized tests such as the Wisconsin Card Sorting Test and the Conners Rating Scale for parents. Reported adverse effects were minor, suggesting that the supplementation was well-tolerated and had a positive influence on certain aspects of behavior and cognitive functioning in these children.

Research remains limited and heterogeneous; these results do not mean that magnesium is an established treatment for ADHD, but they highlight a frequent association between low magnesium status and ADHD, and a possible benefit of supplementation when levels are low.
